As a USAF Air Policeman
during my first 4 years, I was glad that I had been stationed at a Air Force
base
with Flying aircraft. I met several Security Police that had been stationed to
guard the many remote missile
sites spread about the United States. Many of those sites were in the Northern
states and duty there was
just terrible for them and the Officers that manned the silos during the
winter months. When these men
got transfers to Homestead AFB or some to Vietnam while I was there, It was
living again.
